Participation in the AI research programme

As part of the "AI Innovation Competition Baden-Württemberg", the state of Baden-Württemberg is honoring the research project Synthetic Data for Vision Systems with AI - "SyDaVis-AI" with research funding.
"Artificial intelligence offers the economy completely new possibilities and can significantly improve products and services... Baden-Württemberg itself must become a leading development location for AI... With the innovation competition, we are giving ambitious young and established companies from the state additional impetus to bring their ideas to fruition," explains Economics Minister Hoffmeister-Kraut.

The project with the research and development consortium of University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe, Lensation from Stutensee and VisionTools has set itself the goal of being able to train AI-based evaluation procedures of image processing systems by synthetic image data generated without real camera images.

The required training data is to be generated from CAD models and associated textures by simulation in order to be able to provide the customer with a validated inspection system even before the start of production.
